Danny Lee ?Bud? Carpenter, 54, of Quaker City, passed away Tuesday(January 29, 2008) at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center,Cambridge.
He was born on October 14, 1953 in Barnesville, son of the lateWoodrow Wilson Carpenter and Patsy Lou (Lucas) Carpenter.
Mr. Carpenter retired after twenty-five years as a truck driver. Hewas a 1971 graduate of Shenandoah High School.
Mr. Carpenter was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the BatesvilleSportsman?s Club.
He leaves his wife, Mary Ruth (Rohrbaugh) Carpenter of the home, whomhe married on July 2, 1999; five sons, Austin (& Misty) Davis ofMcConnelsville, Travis (& Heather) Carpenter of Batesville; RichieDavis of McConnelsville; Tommy (& Deidre) Davis of Ava and James (&Cindy) Carpenter of Cambridge; a daughter, Ruby Carpenter ofBarnesville; two brothers, Christopher (& Laura) Carpenter of QuakerCity and Todd (& Waynetta) Carpenter of Caldwell; two sisters, Cynthia(& Ernie) Carpenter of Temperanceville and Melony (& Steve) Milhoan ofCanton; and twelve grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-BlackFuneral Home, Quaker City, where services will be held on Saturday at11 a.m. with Rev. Fred McGee officiating.
Burial will be at Batesville Cemetery, Batesville.

Mr. and Mrs. Burdette Carpenter,  of Summerfield Route 2 are theparents of a son born Monday,  October 22nd in the BarnesvilleHospital.  The new arrival weighed 8 pounds, 6 1/2 ounces and has beennamed Mickey Maurice.  Mrs. Carpenter is the former Miss Leah Leach.The grandmothers are Mrs. Versa Leach,  of Temperanceville and Mrs.Alice Carpenter of Summerfield.  The great-grandfather is Samuel Leachof Quaker City Route.   Monday 5 Nov. 1956 Monroe County BeaconWoodsfield Ohio.

SUMMERFIELD - Mickey M. Carpenter, 54, of 614 Cross St., Summerfield,Ohio, died Tuesday (July 19, 2011) upon arrival at the SoutheasternOhio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge, Ohio.
He was born at Barnesville, Ohio, on Oct. 22, 1956, a son of the lateAllen Burdette "Smucker" and Leah Louisa Leach Carpenter.
Mick was a truck driver for G-R Contracting (Gary Rubel) with 28 yearsof service; a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Carlisle, Ohiowhere he was a member of the Holy Name Society, and was a member ofthe Summerfield Volunteer Fire Dept., Summerfield, Ohio.
He enjoyed spoiling his grandson, Jerrason Joseph "Huck" Harmon,traveling with his wife to the Amish country and Walt Disneyvacations, and spending quality time with his daughters andson-in-law. Everyone in his family was very special to him in theirown way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters,Melody Ann Warner and Marsha Lynn Baker; two nephews, Rick Dimmerlingand Jason Hines; and one great-nephew, Tyler Carpenter Cobb.
Surviving are his wife, Diane C. Thompson Carpenter, whom he marriedon June 17, 1978; two daughters, Akerrius Dee "Kerri" (Jason Joseph)Harmon of Caldwell, Ohio, Annika Nicole (Nikki) Carpenter of the home;two brothers, Lloyd (Peggy) Carpenter of Summerfield, Ohio, Jeffery(Marcia) Carpenter of Sarahsville, Ohio; one sister, Linda (Bill)Warner of Summerfield, Ohio; two brothers-in-law, Virgil (Jane)Thompson, Frank Warner, both of Summerfield, Ohio; one sister-in-law,Darlene (Marvin) Dimmerling of Summerfield, Ohio; 24 nieces andnephews; 53 great-nieces and nephew; two great-great-nieces, whom heloved very much.
Friends will be received at the Brubach-Watters Funeral Home, 202 MainSt., Summerfield, Ohio, from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral liturgy withMass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael CatholicChurch, Carlisle, Ohio, with Father Wayne Morris as the celebrate.Vigil services will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

CALDWELL -- Danny Lee Bates Sr., 58, of East Union, passed awayWednesday (Feb. 25, 2009) at his home.
He was born March 11, 1950, in Sarahsville, a son of the Alwilda IreneSorg Bates Ferguson and the late Ronald Wayne Bates.
Mr. Bates was a member of the Summerfield American Legion Post 415. Heserved and protected his country in the U.S. Navy, serving on asubmarine from 1968 to 1972 and in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1976,having served in Germany.
He was an employee of Spectra Energy for more than 31 years. Heenjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, raisinghorses and tinkering with electronic and mechanical items of any sort.
He was preceded in death by his father.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sons, Danny (Dana)Lee Bates Jr. of Colorado, Ronald Edward Bates (Sarah Browning) ofEast Union and Cory Evan Bates of Barnesville; one daughter, CristaDaneen Bates of Barnesville; three grandsons, Brandon Lee Bates andCyler Alexander Bates, and one to arrive soon; loving girlfriend, KayMcDonald of Summerfield; one brother, Wayne (Barb) Bates ofSummerfield; four sisters, Beverly West of Dayton, Becky (Tim) Rine ofArkansas, Brenda (Jake) Wells of Caldwell and Betsy (Kevin) Williamsof Summerfield.He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces,nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers.

Miss Winters was a business owner in the restaurant industry.

She enjoyed gardening, collecting Avon, and cooking. She was a friendto everyone.
Miss Winters was a 1974 graduate of Zane Trace High School.
She is survived by a son, Greg Winters of Quaker city; two brothers,Craig C. (Cheryl) Winters and Randall W. (Chris) Winters, both ofFairview; three sisters, Linda (Clem) Roe and Pamela J. (Nelson) Roe,both of Quaker City, and Sandra K. (Jim) Wells of Barnesville; andseveral aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the CentralChristian Church of Quaker City, 200 Broadway St., Quaker City, wherea memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh willofficiate.
