On 2 Nov 1917 he married Della Carpenter Greene. They had three children: Bertha Pulaska Lee, William Lavern Witherspoon and Hilda Durice Elliott.
He moved to the Minidoka Project in 1905 and farmed northeast of Rupert for more than 30 years.

He was born March 26, 1904, in Boone County, a son of Egbert and Bettie Brummead Fitchue. He was a minister who had pastored several area churches and was an employee of Duncan Industries.

Marriage: 1 Maggie S. Mattox Fitchue (find a grave #21719283)

Survivors included his wife, Fannie Fitchue, of the home; three sons, Rue Fitchue, Omaha, Rex Fitchue, Kellyville, OK, Ronald Firchue, Harrisonh; a daughter, Sibyl Fitchue, Fayetteville, NC; a step-daughter Lucille Shipman, Harrison; a sister, Josie Williams, Omaha; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3 at Denver Rock Church with the Rev. Jack Barnes officiating. Burial was in the Denver Cemetery under the direction of Christeson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Don Arnold, Herbert Poor, Darrell Molder, Terry Poor, Joe Erwin, Ward Barnes.
