LYLE M. ANDRESS
Funeral services for Lyle M. Andress, 66, of Rural Keithsburg were held this after noon (Wednesday) ay 1:30 p.m. at the Rieser-Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo. The Rev. Steven C. Kares, pastor of the First Christian Church, Keithsburg, officiated. Burial was in the Aledo Cemetery. Memorials were made to the First Christian Church, Keithsburg or to the Keithsburg Volunteer Anbulance Service.

Mr. Andress died Sunday afternoon, Oct. 7, 1984 at 3:01 p.m. at Moline Public Hospital.

He was born June 23, 1918 in Eliza Township, the son of Thomas Orville and Coral Margarite Bear Andress. He married Aileen Gladys Zimmerman Feb 23, 1944 in Muscatine.

Mr. Andress farmed in Keithsburg Township for 38 years and owned and operated a farm in Greene Township for the last five years.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Donald L. Andress of Coal Valley, and Roger L. Andress of Rural Aledo; three grandchildren; and a sister, Miss Eleanor Pauline Andress of Moline.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and brothers.

Roger Lane was born on August 6, 1950 to Lyle M. & Aileen G. (Zimmerman) Andress. After graduating high school, he served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. Roger was united in marriage to Jodie Anderson on July 26, 1975 in Keithsburg, Illinois.

Roger was a Rural Postal Carrier, retiring on January 26, 2013. He also enjoyed raising cattle. Roger and Jodie enjoyed dancing and boating with family and friends.

Those left to cherish Roger’s memory include his wife, Jodie; son, Jason; daughter and her family: Linsey, Mike and Harper Warren; brother: Don (Marilyn) Andress; Aunts: Betty Bull and Lois Folck; sister-in-law: Connie (Jesse) Midkiff and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was born Nov. 28, 1920, of New Boston, the son of J. B. and Vivian Sloan Zimmerman. He was a former resident of New Boston and Aledo. He married Shirley Manning. He was of Methodist faith. Mr. Zimmerman served in the Navy Air Corps during World War II. He was an electronics technician.

Survivors include one son, Randall Lee, of Chino; one daughter, Sandra Joy, Chino; one brother, Lavenrne Zimmerman, New Boston; one sister, Mrs. Lyle (Phyllis) Crawford, Joy; and the parents, of New Boston.

A of the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 199th Infantry Brigade. Spec. Crawford started his tour of Vietnam on 9-1-1969.

He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Lyle F. Crawford of Box 221, Joy, Illinois.

FRED ZIMMERMAN
Fred LaVerne Zimmerman 78 New Boston, died Monday Oct. 13, 2003 at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Joy, with the Rev. Richard Bishop officiating. Burial will be in the Peniel Cemetery, rural Joy. Visitation is 4 to 8 tonight at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, where memorials may be left to Serenity Hospice or Joy United Methodist Church.

He was born Oct. 26, 1924, in New Boston, a son of Joshua and Vivian (Sloan) Zimmerman. He graduated from New Boston High School and attended Brown's Business School, Galesburg.

He married Phyllis Crawford Dec 11, 1949 in Aldeo. She died in 1980. He married Ella "Renne" McGinnis April 26, 1984 in Joy.

Following his schooling, Fred was employed at the Joy State Bank and farmed in the New Boston area for more than 50 years. He also sold Burrus Seed Corn for several years.

He enjoyed wintering in Arizona, loved dancing, shuffleboard and playing pool.

He was survived by his wife Renne: daughters and sons-in-law. Karen and Donnie Russell, New Boston, Kathy and Greg Welch Keithsburg, Jan Vipond, Aledo; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Rhonda Zimmerman, New Boston; stepchildren, Diane Peterson, Dixon, Ill., Thomas Duane McGinnis, Illinois City; 12 grandchildren; five step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren; and sister Phyllis Crawford, Aledo. He was preceded in death his parents, a wife and a brother.

68 Year old Karen Russell, of New Boston, Illinois got her heavenly wings Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at St. Francis, in Peoria.

New Boston Assembly of God is hosting a memorial service on Saturday, June 27th at 2:00 p.m.   Following the service, Karen’s family will greet friends and family.  Memorials may be left for New Boston Assembly of God.  Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo assisted the family.

Karen was born October 5, 1951 in Aledo, Illinois. She was the daughter of LaVerne and Phyllis (Crawford) Zimmerman.  She was the Valedictorian of the 1969 graduating class of Westmer High School.  She married Don Russell on August 15, 1969, in Joy.  Karen worked for Cargill for over 30 years, where she was a grain buyer. She retired in 2017.  Karen was a devoted member of New Boston Assembly of God.  For over 20 years, she enjoyed singing gospel music twice a month at area nursing homes.  She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an avid Cubs fan.  Her greatest joy was time spent with family.  She loved being a grandma and attending any event in which her grandchildren participated.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband:  Don; sons:  Jake, Judd (Amy) and Josh (Megan); grandchildren:  Zach, Eden, Ella, Haven and Chaz; two sisters:  Kathy (Greg), Jan  and a brother Ron.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Karen was a beautiful soul and will be deeply missed by not only her family; but her Church Family, Community and all who knew her!

Renne was employed at the Grain Processing Corporation in Muscatine Iowa for 20 years, retiring in 1986.

Her memberships include the Joy United Methodist Church and she enjoyed wintering in Arizona, dancing, playing shuffleboard, knitting, crocheting and being with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter Diane (Gary) Peterson of Milan, IL, one son, Thomas McGinnis of Illinois City, IL, Step-daughters Karen (Donnie) Russell of New Boston, Il, Kathy (Greg) Welch of Keithsburg, IL, Jan Vipond of East Moline, IL, step-son Ronald Zimmerman of New Boston, 5 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren , several step-great grandchildren, a sister, Ramona Richter and a brother, George Middagh both of Muscatine, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
