Gordon (Gordie) Carpenter, 61, of Clarksburg, MO passed away on Sunday, July 07, 2013 at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, MO.
He was born March 1, 1952 in California, MO the son of William (Bud) Irving and Adella (Grace) Albert Carpenter, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was united in marriage on July 25, 1970 at the Clarksburg Baptist Church to Dianna Hanna, who survives at the home.
He worked for Clennin Meats for many years and he was a cafeteria owner for Cargill for many years.
He was a member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church.
Gordon loved playing fast pitch softball for many years which took him traveling across country. He enjoyed racing and going to the races. He also enjoyed visiting his friends and family.
He was a 1970 graduate of California High School.
Gordon is survived by one son, Gordon (Shorty) Lee Carpenter Jr. and special friend Alicia Ichrist of Tipton, MO; one daughter, Janese Bibb and husband Cary of Bowling Greene, MO; two brothers, Larry Carpenter and wife Pamela and David Carpenter and wife Eva all of Clarksburg; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. Officiating will be Bro. Leroy Moon. Burial will be in the Hickman Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Clarksburg School Athletics or American Diabetes Ass. c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services 100 S. Oak St. California, MO 65018.

Mr. Carpenter died March 1, 2000, in his home after a long illness. Born June 30, 1924, in Richardsville, Okla., he lived in Fairfield for 22 years. He worked as a painter for Richmond Shipyard for 18 years, served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II veteran. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and artwork. Mr. Carpenter is survived by his wife of 53 years, Zola of Fairfield; daughter, Carol Hammon of Pacheco; sons, Jerry and Wayne, both of Oklahoma, Ronald of Rodeo and James of Pinole; sisters, Crystal Benson of Texas and Geraldine Smith of Arizona; brother, Tom of Pinole; seven grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Fairfield Funeral Home.”

Mary Ellen Carpenter, age 72, of Browning Branch Road, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Brian Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Augustus and Virginia Withers Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Feinstein and Marian Messer and three brothers, Walter "Red", Joseph, and Carroll "Tommy" Williams.
Mary Ellen loved spending time with her family camping at Jack Rabbit Campground. She also enjoyed working in her garden, crafts, and sewing as well as attending Faith United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joe Carpenter; one daughter, Sheree Hill and husband, Mike, of Waynesville; two sons, Joe Steve Carpenter and his wife, Martha, of Sylva and Randy Carpenter of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Brittany Hill Crisp, Wesley Hill, and Morgan Carpenter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Nelson and Reverend Susan Giles officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Don, Harry, and Junior Carpenter, Marty Sutton, and Victor and Chris "Bubba" Carver. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Carpenter and Hugh Carver.

A native of Haywood County he was a son of the late Joe Albert and Mary Ellen Williams Carpenter. Randy was drawn to the outdoors from a very young age, whether it was lake or trout fishing, camping or tinkering in his yard. He loved being surrounded by these beautiful mountains. For the past 20 years Randy worked for the National Park Service, Blue Ridge Parkway, a position he cherished. Randy attended Victory Baptist Church.
Randy is survived by his wife and companion of 20 years, Brenda Carpenter; stepdaughter, Heather Davidson, of Spartanburg; sister, Sheree Hill, and her husband, Mike, of Waynesville; brother, Joe Steve Carpenter, and his wife, Martha, of Sylva; two nieces, Brittany Crisp and Morgan Carpenter; and a nephew, Wesley Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Nelson and Reverend Millard Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
