Maiden name given as Martin, but that is doubtful.

Henry Carpenter
Birth: May 23, 1786
Death: Mar. 8, 1868
On the 8th of March, in East Earl Township, Lancaster Co., Pa., Bro. HENRY ZIMMERMAN, aged 81 years, 9 months, and 16 days. Funeral sermons were preached by Tobias Wanner and Geo. Weaver, from Rev. 1:3.
Herald of Truth - Volume V, Number 5 - May, 1868, page 79
This Henry Carpenter has been confused with the one who married Martha Wenger, daughter of Michael and Eva (Good) Wenger. Some documents give her name as Magdalena and some as Martha. Henry and Martha moved to Adams County in 1825 (Lancaster County deed C5-380) and are buried in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Abbotstown, Pa.

He moved from Lancaster Co., to Cumberland Co., PA.
He was ordained in 1814, the first Deacon at Martin Church (now SlateHill Mennonite Church).
CHILDREN: Do the children really have the middle name of Martin, or is this just the mother's maiden name added by one researcher as an aide? Unfortunately the pattern is the mother's maiden name used as a form of ID. This is not proper. Middle names of Martin removed. JRC 2014

He was a minister in the Mennonite Church.
He moved to Ohio in 1869.

NOTE: If her mother's maiden name is Gundy, then the middle name should be removed. Without proof and it appears for ID purposes a researcher added mother's maiden names to the record. Unfortunately, this has caused all sort of problems.
