This is likely the grave of Margaret Hoke Carpenter. Margaret is the daughter of Daniel Hoke and Susannah Rudisill. She is a sister to Marcus, Michael, Eli, Caroline and John.

On 31 Dec 1868 Margaret married Michael Theodore Carpenter and they are the parents of two sons, Thomas and Wiley.

Margaret is seen living again with her mother in 1880 and noted by the census taker to be insane. Her sons live with their father.

She was the 318th patient admitted to the new asylum, as noted by the number on her grave marker, so it is likely she was admitted in 1884 or 1885.

Her husband had, by the time of her death at the asylum, moved to Arkansas and remarried. With his second wife, Henrietta Josephine, he had seven more children.
