Last name is probably married name. NFD.
At one point there was some discussion that she had African American hertiage.
This of course was hotly debated.
Letter: Nellie (Carpenter) Hardway of Farmington, WV indicates in a letter dated 27 Dec 2001 that Sally's last name may have been "Miller." She also has a son named Benjamin, Jr. listed as born 1829.
Nellie traces her line through Sally's son named John who married Polly Gearheart. Nellie supplied data for this line in her letter.

John donated the land on which the Christian Church was built in Killbuck and some of the land for the Killbuck Cemetery. He and his wife are buied just above the church.
