Wilma "J J" (Jenner) (Carpenter) Bracey was born on February 17, 1941, the daughter of William Jenner and Cora ( -- ) Jenner.She was married to Clinton B Carpenter Sr.
A resident of Nashville, Tennessee, she was 75 years old when she passed away on January 22, 2017.
J J was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and by her siblings Freda (Jenner) Dickens, Thurman Jenner, Danny Jenner and Euel Jenner. survivors included two married Carpenter sons; two daughters and a son-in-law; two honorary children: thirteen grandchildren and an honorary grandson and five siblings.
Funeral Services were held at Joywood Bridge of Hope Assembly of God Church, and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Bio: Dester Carpenter, 79, of Michigan City, passed away peacefully at 8:25 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2016 in his home.He was born on July 19, 1937, in Jackson County, Kentucky, to Emmitt and Radie Carpenter.
Dester honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of Faith City Assembly of God, Michigan City. Dester was an avid Alabama football fan. One of his greatest hobbies was his family.
On February 11, 1960, in Michigan City, he married Linda (Patz) Carpenter.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Linda Carpenter of Michigan City; three children, Cindy (Perry) Pickens of Three Oaks, MI, Rachel (Tim) Hodum of La Porte, and Sarah (Tim) Oman of Stevensville, MI; three sisters, Carole Thames of Hattiesburg, MI, Wilma (Danny) Lemons of Michigan City, and Brenda (Bobby) Waire of Elkhart; two brothers, Troy (Betty) Carpenter of Crestview, FL and Charles (Marg) Carpenter of Foley, AL; seven grandchildren, Michael, Mark, Shelby, Madelyn, Hillary, Peyton, and Paige; four great grandchildren, Tarryn, Kelsey, Allison, and Alevea; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; five sons, Jefferey Boyd, Mark James, Christopher Stewart, David William, and Dester Wade Carpenter; and two brothers, Clinton and Warneal Carpenter.
A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2016 at Faith City Assembly of God, 1314 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN 46360 with Pastor Bill Barnes officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place in Swan Lake Cemetery, Michigan City.
