A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the home of his sister, Julie, at 28 Kensington Circle, Bloomington.
Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of cremation arrangements.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his family.
He was born June 15, 1955, in Bloomington, a son of Jack and Peggy Beauford Carpenter.
Surviving are a sister, Julie (Randy) McClure, and a brother, Scott Carpenter, both of Bloomington; and three nieces, Amy (Tony) Francisco, Kelsey McClure and Leigh Ann (Mike) Petersen.

Coy leaves his daughter, Debbie (Kyle) Thacker of Eidson; sons, Steve (Helen) Carpenter of Bulls Gap, Charles Carpenter of Mooresburg, Jerry (Lisa) Manis of Surgoinsville, James "Pete" (Naomi) Manis of Rogersville and Coy "Punkin" (Veronica) Carpenter, Jr. of Thorn Hill; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Lana Parsons and Elma Dalton; and brothers, Burl, Troy, Larry, Keith and Darrell Carpenter.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 12, 2012 from the chapel of Colboch-Price Funeral Home with Rev. Loran Johnson and Rev. Willard Wilder officiating. Interment will follow in Manis Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Graveside services will follow at Mason Cemetery in Arp. Arrangements are under direction of Cottle~Pearson Funeral Home, Overton. Mrs. Martin passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 in Kilgore, Texas. She was born October 20, 1924 in Rural Smith County, Texas, to the late Charlie and Jimmie McMinn Carpenter. She was a lifelong resident of Arp where she and her late husband, Frank Martin, owned a rose nursery, an antique dealership and Juanita Martin Realty. She also held jobs as a secretary and bookkeeper. During her lifetime, she was active in community affairs including PTA, Community Club, Garden Club, Band Boosters, Athletic Boosters and Eastern Star as well as being a long time member of Emmanuel Baptist. Juanita is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Neita Fran and Bill Ward of Arp and Anna and Bill Clary of Henderson, one son and daughter-in-law Tommy and Delia Martin of Odessa, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren; also survived by two sisters Lorene Kirksey Wilkerson of Arp, and Barbara Torrez of Tyler; a brother Royal Carpenter of Japan; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is survived by his mother, Juanita Martin of Troup; daughters, Valerie Martin of Whitehouse and Kimberlee Martin of Tyler; brother, Tommy Martin of west Texas; sisters, Neita Fran Ward of New Mexico, Betty Swinney of Arp and Anna Clary of Troup; and four grandchildren.
