Clara married Floyd (her childhood sweetheart) on October 6, 1929. They later were blessed with two children, Betty and Colleen.
After many hardships during the depression they settled in the Sacramento, California area. They worked long and hard hours trying to provide for their two girls and strive for a better life. Clara was the best and most loving mother in the entire world. Her life revolved around her family which included two brothers and a sister that survived the illnesses and tradgedies of those days. The door was always open for anyone who dropped in and there was always enough food to add another plate. Clara worked outside of the home while trying to get ahead, but her primary concern was for her children. Clara managed the books and did many other chores in assisting her husband in his businesses. She was very astute and never stopped wanting to learn. She was always available to help with homework and to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent homemaker and could adapt to anything that required her attention. Clara was an Eastern Star, the Block Captain during WWII, helped with elections, PTA and had many friends that she enjoyed a lunch and an afternoon of crotcheting or other kinds of crafts. She was the most patient, loving mother and grandmother.
