Wilma Mae (Carpenter) Dunn, 86, went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2019, in Greenfield, Indiana. She was born at home on October 26, 1932, in Newberry, Indiana, to Kenneth and Eathel Carpenter.Wilma attended Frankfort Pilgrim College for three years where she met John Dunn. While attending college, she worked for the Pilgrim Publishing House and Detroit Steel in Indianapolis. Wilma and John were married 64 years ago in the Pilgrim Holiness church in Linton, Indiana, on July 30, 1954. After graduating from Frankfort Pilgrim College in Frankfort, Indiana, they entered pastoral ministry leading Pilgrim Holiness Churches in Fond de lac, Wisconsin; Hillsboro, Wisconsin; and Wesleyan Churches in Phoenix, Arizona; and in Tucson, Arizona. In 1975, their family of eight moved back to Indiana when John became the Executive Leader of the Wesleyan Investment Foundation for 25 years until retirement in 2000.
Because of John’s position, he and Wilma were blessed to visit churches and pastors across the United States as well as in Canada, Europe, Peru, Australia, Puerto Rico, Haiti, the Philippines, Israel, and New Zealand.
Wilma leaves a legacy of impacting others for her Lord, beginning with her family in which she instilled godly values, lifestyle, and a heart for representing Jesus Christ in all things. She invested time in family devotions and praying for each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild by name every day.She is preceded in death by a son, Glenn Arthur Dunn, a daughter-in-law, Melinda (Cartwright) Dunn, her parents, two sisters, Luella Carpenter and Mary Snyder, a brother, Delbert. She is survived by her husband, John A. Dunn of Greenfield, a sister, Deloris Cundiff of Washington, IN, and brother, Kenneth Carpenter, Jr. of Bloomfield, IN, and five children: Charissa Dunn of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Daniel and DiAnn (Ware) Dunn of Chesterton, Indiana, Kristeen Walker of McCordsville, Indiana, Craig and Tammy (Miller) Dunn of Fishers, Indiana, Glenn’s widow, Rhonda (Hendricks) Dunn of Derby, Kansas, and James and Wendy (Agner) Dunn of McCordsville, Indiana, along with 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Wilma’s life and our Lord will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church, 994 N. 600 E., Greenfield, IN 46140. The family will greet guests at the church on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. as well as from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Interment will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, Indiana. John Andrew Dunn was born in College Corner, Ohio November 25, 1934, to Rev. Floyd and Eulalia Dunn. He went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2020 at the age of 85.He graduated from Frankfort Pilgrim College in 1956 with a B.A. in Religion, and was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Divinity in 1990 by Oklahoma Wesleyan University. He was an ordained minister in The Wesleyan Church. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Wesleyan Investment Foundation for 25 years and as a member of the Board of Directors for an additional 20 years after his retirement.
John married Wilma Mae Carpenter on July 30, 1954, and they remained married for 65 years until Wilma’s death in April of 2019. Their home was blessed with six children.
John walked in the light God gave him and fulfilled his duty and desire to worship his Savior, love his family, minister to many, and befriend a multitude for the sake of the Kingdom. One of John’s favorite Bible verses was Matthew 25:23: “Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”
John was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Mae (Carpenter) Dunn, his parents, a son, Glenn Dunn, and a daughter-in-law, Mindy Dunn. He is survived by five children: Charissa Dunn of Bartlesville, OK, Daniel and DiAnn Dunn of Chesterton, IN, Kristeen Walker of McCordsville, IN, Craig and Tammy Dunn of Fishers, IN, and James and Wendy Dunn of Bartlesville, OK. He is also survived by Glenn’s widow, Rhonda Dunn of Derby, KS, 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Park Chapel Christian Church, 1176 E. McKenzie Rd, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.

John William Barker, 83, of Odon, passed away at 6:03 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2016 at St. Marys Medical Center in Evansville.Born May 27, 1932 in Dekalb, Illinois to Omar W. and Vivian (Carpenter) Barker.
He retired as a self employed farmer and served his country in the Korean War with the United States Army.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Debra A. Wheeler of Booneville; granddaughters, Michelle Baird of Henderson, Kentucky and Lauren Normington of Booneville; great grandchildren, Paislee Baird, Piper Normington and Kale Liggett due this year; sisters, rena Sipes of Odon and Linda Richardson of Indianapolis; and one brother, Wallace O. Barker of Newberry.
he was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Jean (Sheets) Barker on October 4, 2002 and his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Scotland cemetery.
Public visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Born Aug. 24, 1935, in Greene County, she was the daughter of John Henry and Martha (Gordon) Sheets.
She was a homemaker, and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, John W. Barker of Odon; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra A. and Larry C. Baird of Bloomfield; two granddaughters, Michelle A. Potts of Germany and Lauren Baird of Bloomfield; two sisters, Doris Campbell of Bloomfield and Nina Sloan of Marietta, Ga.; one brother, George Sheets of Waldron; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William Sheets, and her parents.
There will be no calling hours and the funeral service will be private with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Burial will be at Scotland Cemetery.

Steve Barker, 62, of Newberry passed away Saturday October 20, 2018 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.Born July 16, 1956 in Vincennes the son of John “Johnnie” Barker, Sr. and Nina M. (Carpenter) Barker.
Steve worked with his father and brother on the dairy farm, he was deputy Marshall and later Marshall of Odon, Indiana; he also worked security at Greene County General Hospital in Linton, he was a Greene County Sherriff’s Department Reserve officer, a member of the FOP in Washington, Elnora Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star, the Lions Club, the Antique Tractor Association in Elnora and the Pleasant Hill Church.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Janice Barker, three children, Jessica (Doug) Lauderdale, Chris Barker and Stephanie (Josh) Buskirk, grandchildren, Tara (Dustin Kettler) Lauderdale, Alison Lauderdale, Bryson Lauderdale, Ariana Barker, Kassidy Barker, Olivia Buskirk and Dylan Buskirk, sisters, Jean DeVine and Joyce Pergal, brother, John Barker, Jr (Ruth), and several nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by a son Adam Barker, granddaughter Jaden Lauderdale, nephew John Frances DeVine, brother-in-laws, Joe DeVine and Don Pergal and his parents
Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Thursday at Harvest Community Church and 10 A.M. Friday until the hour of service at the Church.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at Harvest Community Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family of Steve Barker towards Jaden’s Scholarship Fund and expenses.

June worked in Long Term care since the 1970's, her last employment was at Martin County Nursing Center, Loogootee, Indiana.
She was both a CNA/QMA. And she was an excellent caregiver. and loved by the residents she cared for.Surviving relatives include her father Wendell Eugene Carpenter, Sr. of Newberry; one daughter Tammy Jo Powell Walls of Owensburg; one granddaughter Alexis Nichole Walls of Owensburg; one brother Wendell Eugene (Donna) Carpenter, Jr. of Newberry; her niece Kimberly S. (Paul) Rifner, nephew Tim Carpenter both of Newberry, and four great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother Mary (Lester) Carpenter.
June is laid to rest at Scotland Cemetery.She was one of a kind and the best friend I could have ever asked for. She loved her granddaughter and spoke of her with love often. She will always be in the hearts of those who knew her and never forgotten by those that loved her. We were closer than sisters could have been, and I am forever grateful I had her as my best friend for as long as I did. I miss her every day.

Elven “Earl” Carpenter, 93, of Richland, passed away on May 22, 2019. Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2019, at Richland Cemetery with Pastor Walter Libhart officiating.Earl left Richland at the age of 16 to work on the pipelines. He married Louise and made a home for his family in Gholson, Texas. Earl was a lifelong pipeliner who traveled the world. He enjoyed making people smile by telling stories about his travels and the people he met.
When Earl retired from the pipelines he came back to Richland, Texas, where he raised a barnyard of various animals. Earl loved trapping and visiting the sale barns. He would never show up at your house empty-handed; he always wanted to contribute. Earl enjoyed spending time with family and friends and he never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death, by his wife, Katherine “Louise” Anderson Carpenter; a son, Jessie Carpenter; and a daughter, Earlene Carpenter Stephens.
He is survived by his daughter, Evelyn Womack and her husband, Ken; son, Earl Dwayne "Buddy" Carpenter and his wife, Sue; sister, Othera Barlow; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
