Bio:
Ollie James Carpenter, 71, of St. Pete Beach, Florida and formerly of Breathitt County departed this earthly life on Monday, January 3, 2005 at the Palms of Pasadena Hospital in Florida of an extended illness. He was born December 13, 1933 at Guage, KY and was the son of the late Floyd and Eliza Noble Carpenter. He was a retired model maker, a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a Mason of Oakley Lodge #339 in Cincinnati, Ohio and a member of the Quicksand United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Rosemary Combs Carpenter of St. Pete Beach, Florida; one son James W. Carpenter of Mason, OH; one sister Phyllis Howard of Guage, KY; two brothers Estill and Alvin Carpenter of Guage, KY and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, January 7, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Masonic Rites at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Hirley Smith and Tommy Haddix officiating. Burial followed in the Bach Cemetery at Quicksand, KY. In lieu of flowers, donations requested be made to Lower Quicksand United Baptist Church. Deaton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Hi, I took a photo of this grave today, but found the tombstone in the Quicksand
Cemetery which is the little fenced cemetery to the left of the large fenced Miles
Back Cemetery on the right. That little cemetery is called the Quicksand Cemetery,
if you'd care to move the memorial to that cemetery. I thought you'd like to know.

Bobby Gene 'Cobb' Carpenter

Bobby Gene "Cobb" Carpenter, 67, a lifelong resident of Greeneville, passed away Monday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
He was an installer of heating and air conditioning units.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years: Debra Carpenter of Chuckey; two daughters: Shanda Richards (Mark) of Greeneville and Brandi Rimer (Daniel); one son: B.J. Poole; one brother: Teddy Carpenter (Darlene Scalf) of Chuckey; one sister: Carolyn Effler (Phil) of Greeneville; six grandchildren: Kiahya Githens, Korben Githens, Hadyen Gene Richards, Maddex Rimer, Gabby Early and Delylah Rimer; several nieces and nephews; his favorite mother-in-law: Betty Ottinger; and his favorite companion: Jodi.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joe and Virgie Carpenter, and a brother and his wife: Larry and Ethel Carpenter.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Larry Moore officiating.
Interment will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Union Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Al Price, Connie Bailey, Robert Bailey, Chris Hensley, Tim Tweed and Donnie Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be his friends from Fergusons and Johnstone, Jerry and Jenny Scalf and all of his friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
