AUTO INJURIES CAUSE DEATH
W. K Carpenter Succumbed Yesterday at Noon—Accident Occurred on Lewiston Orchards Highway Wednesday.
W.K. Carpenter, who was struck by an automobile Wednesday evening while crossing the highway, in Lewiston Orchards, died at noon yesterday at the St. Joseph hospital from the injuries received.
Mr. Carpenter suffered from the fracture of three ribs and other severe bruises in addition to internal injuries and it developed Thursday evening that the internal Injuries were of such a character as would probably prove fatal.
Mr. Carpenter was about 64 years old and had been a resident of Lewiston for several years, having for a period been engaged in the barber business on East Main street. He was born Tennessee.
Mr. Carpenter was survived by three daughters and four sons, they being:
Mrs. Myrtle Bowman and Mrs. Nora Taylor, of Lewiston; Mrs. Mable Eldzrouth, of Yakima; Amos and Wesley Carpenter of Lewiston, and Fred and Frank Carpenter , of Big Timber, Montana.
The time of the funeral will be announced in the Tribune tomorrow morning.
Witnesses to the accident which resulted in Mr. Carpenter's death, have stated that no one is blamable for Its occurrence. Mr. Carpenter started to cross the hIghway to get into an automobile and when near the center of the road saw the car driven by James McKlasick, of Tammany, approaching. Mr. McKlasick had turned his car to pass to the side of Mr. Carpenter when the latter stepped in front of the machine and was run down.GRAVE: image plus obit regarding his death accident
