OBITUARIES

CarpenterRev. Dedrick Carpenter, 87, of Rt. 1, Mooresburg, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, September 4 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was a member and ordained Minister of Spruce Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors are daughters, Joy Cook, Allie B. Cook; son, Ernest Carpenter, all of Mooresburg; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Brewer, Mooresburg.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday at Spruce Pine Grove Baptist Church with Reverends Olaf Atkins, Billy Carroll, and Glen Lovin officiating. Interment followed in the Carpenter Cemetery.
Stubblefield's of Morristown was in charge.
The family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Bean Station Rescue Squad."
