James David Carpenter was born May 15, 1941 in Jackson County and departed this life Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his residence in Lancaster, being 77 years of age. He was the son of the late Milt & Lillie (McDaniel) Carpenter.
He is survived by four sons, James Albert (Patricia) Carpenter of Lancaster, Carl Ray (Carrie) Carpenter of Harrodsburg, Ralph Carpenter of Annville and William David Carpenter of Elida, OH. He is also survived by two brothers, Johnny Carpenter and Andrew Carpenter both of Annville. He was blessed with a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Carpenter; by a brother, Saul Carpenter and by six sisters, Eliza Harrison, Betty Vaughn, Jeannette Gibbons, Maudie Clark, Ruhama Shelton and Elizabeth Wilson.Funeral service 1:00 PM Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Lakes Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Seven Pines Cemetery.
