Delbert Rader, age 88, of Sand Springs, was born June 8, 1925 in Jackson County. He was on of eleven children of the late Elisha P & Berry Mae (Rose) Rader. He passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at the St. Joseph Hospital East in Lexington.
Delbert married Irene (Carpenter) Rader on February 13, 1945.
He is survived by the following children, Bonnie & Donald Story of Centerville, IN; Donnie & Sue Rader of McKee; Nina & B.B. Isaacs of McKee; Emellee Hall of Berry, KY; Wanda & Tim Higginbothan of Mississippi and Dwight & JoRhetta Rader of McKee and by a special niece, Marilyn Kay Van Zant. He is also survived by two sisters, Ella Baker of Connersville, IN and Arzella Russell of Milton, IN and by a host of nieces and nephews. Delbert was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Delbert was also preceded in death by his wife, Irene; by a son Danny D. Rader; by a great grandson Trevor Isaacs; by a great granddaughter Lida Ann Rose; by six brothers, Melvin, Granville, Tolby, Dessmon, Floyd & Ellis Rader and by two sisters, Della Lakes and Lella Steele.
Delbert was a member of the Holiness Church.
Funeral service was held 2:00PM Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Rose and Bro. Leonard Wilder officiating. Burial followed in the Rader & Carpenter Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dwight & Donnie Rader, Tim Higginbotham, Austin Isaacs, Junior Skinner & Cassius Townsend. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph & Keith Coyle, Michael McKinney, Bruce Hays, Gerrett & Garrett Isaacs, Jake Lainhart, Marvin, Ricky & Larry Rader. Danny D. Rader was born September 8, 1964 and departed this life Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center in Richmond, with his family by his side, being 47 years of age. He was the son of Delbert Rader of McKee and of the late Irene (Carpenter) Rader.
In addition to his father, Danny is also survived by a son, Anthony Rader of McKee; by two brothers, Donnie Rader and his wife Susie and Dwight Rader and his wife JoRhetta both of McKee and by four sisters, Bonnie Story and her husband Donald of Centerville, IN, Nina Isaacs and her husband B.B. of McKee, Emellee Hall and her husband Wayne of Georgetown, KY and Wanda Higginbotham and her husband Tim of Bogue Chitto, MS. Danny was blessed with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving family and friends.
Danny was of the Holiness Faith.
Funeral service was held 2:00 PM Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Mike McKinney and Bro. Bruce Hays officiating. Burial followed in the Rader & Carpenter Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dwight, Anthony & Donnie Rader, Troy Lee McKinney, Austin Isaacs, Ronald & Terry Fowler. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
