COMMENT:
In some on line genealogies, and in error, Leah Neary "Lee" Carpenter is listed as Lena and married to Robert J. Hicks. And some even list Leah (female) and Lee (male) as siblings!
Per Rick,
At trackingyourroots.com ( ), In the Geneva Co section ...
ANTIOCH BAPTIST CHURCH
located on US Highway 52 East, in the Oak Grove Community of Geneva County, Alabama, between Hartford and Geneva. There are several unmarked graves in this cemetery, and markers for some graves are no longer readable. Transcribed on August 9, 2003, by Judith Fowler.

HICKS, Lena
1879-1941
Blessed Are The Dead Who Die In The Lord
Wife of Robert J. Hicks

HICKS, Robert J.
1880-1965
Blessed Are The Dead Who Die In The Lord
Husband of Lena Hicks

Per JRC:
The Lena Hicks, above, is clearly not Lancie F. “Leha” Carpenter (b. April 1889 – d. 27 Oct 1939) who married a Robert Hicks then divorced him. Nor is that Lena Hicks, above, not Leah Neary “Lee” Carpenter (b. 4 Aug 1885 – d. 6 Aug 1970). The dates conflict.

OLD COMMENT:
In some on line genealogies, and in error, Leah Neary "Lee" Carpenter is listed as Lena and married to Robert J. Hicks. And some even list Leah (female) and Lee (male) as siblings!
In addition, many of those on line genealogies (without proof) cite Leah's sister Lancie F. "Leha" Carpenter who married a Robert Hicks (see death above) as the Lena buried next to Robert J. Hicks.
Per Rick,
At trackingyourroots.com ( <> ), In the Geneva Co section ...
JRC adds:  There were two separate Robert Hicks - one Robert B. Hicks and the other Robert Jack Hicks. Both had wifes refenced as Lena at one time or another.

1276. David Benjamin Carpenter

DEATH:
See Death Certificate image - number 14854 on newer death certificate form:
http://www.trackingyourroots.com/pdf/ButlerDeaths.pdf

Per Rick:
Here's what I have on David Benjamin Carpenter. Armanta Verlillian Arant was the sister of Carrie Dee Arant. Carrie's bio said she was born in 1870 but her stone says 1871. Her bio also says John died May 31 1967, so I'm guessing his stone's date of Jun 3 1967 is his burial date. I feel better about John's death/burial than Carrie's birth year. Lois Eran McClure may have married second to ___ Dixon. It was not uncommon for a remarried widow to be buried with her first husband, however I couldn't find a Dixon in Butler or Escambia Co AL (or even Van Zandt Co TX) via findagrave who was tied to Lois. The order of her marriages is a guess based on her marrying at age 20 to David.
