Rev. Charlie Wayne Carpenter
Rev. Charlie W. Carpenter of Eufaula passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his home. He was 70.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2011 in Piney Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Donnie E. Collins and Rev. Bobby Hagler officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Piney Grove Assembly of God Church or to Clayton Assembly of God Church.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.
Rev. Carpenter was born on May 19, 1940 in Barbour County, AL to the late Lee Oscar and Allie Beatrice Campbell Carpenter. He was a member of Clayton Assembly of God Church. After 24 years, he retired from the Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Maxine Carpenter of Eufaula; three daughters: Charlene Brice (Chip) of Eufaula, Charlotte Jernigan (Mark) of Clio, Chrystal Carpenter of Winfield, AL; three sons: Charlie W. Carpenter, Jr. (Sherry) of Virginia Beach, VA, Christoper Carpenter (Christine) of Uniontown, OH, Curtis Carpenter (Kim) of Eufaula; one brother: James Carpenter (Mildred) of Dothan; two sisters: Mary Bradley of Perry, GA, Milbris Shaw (James) of Phenix City; nineteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

We have two children that are born within 3 months of each other.
2, 4, & 7 Dec 1910 and another born 11 Sep 1910. I have place this tag and an about indicator for the birth dates. I resolved this one via a few minutes of research. The first date is for a person in another Boutwell family line. See WARNING below.
The reality was a confusion with this person who was noted as "Bert" in one (1) census record and who was born 6 Sep 1913. That was close enough to a Burt Nolan - aka Brit - Boutwell to Bert (via 1920 US Census ) that his real name was copied with bad info and good info over and over on the internet.
