From an email dated 16 May 2020 ...

Good evening, John,

I have received the documents concerning your ancestry. Not being very comfortable with the English language and even less so with genealogy, I decided to take a course. That's how I met Pierre during a presentation. Since then, we have been a little at rest because of the coronavirus. In fact, it was during my quarantaine that I resumed my work and completed my test, passing to 111 markers. It was after this upgrade that I received your last documents and studied them.

Bendicht Zimmermann born probably on the 21st and not the 22nd of December 1777 died on 12.09.1841 had two wives, the first one is Anna Zimmermann born on 8.07.1781 and died on 23.02.1825.  They had 8 children as my document indicates. Anna died following the birth of Magdalena in 1825. His second wife is Suzanna Zurcher born ? and died on 17.08.1840. She is from Aeschi/Spiez.

Being a beginner in the use of Family Tree, I transmit to you initially for your personal use a short genealogy concerning me until our Bendicht Zimmermann born in 1977. It is attested by my research on the spot in the years 1980, in Wattenwil by consulting directly at the registrar's office the documents. It was during one of these visits that I had the opportunity to photocopy the excerpt from the "Burgerrodel", which I am also enclosing here.

I will continue my research and keep you informed. I wish you a good reception of my documents and look forward to reading you. With my best regards.  Werner Zimmermann

NOTE: Werner later adds ....
Suzanna ZURCHER and specify the date of marriage 12.11.1825.

CARPENTER, Samuel, was born November 11th, 1765, in Lancaster county Pennsylvania. He was brought up to the business of agriculture, which he followed for many years, and up to April 1807, when he removed to Lancaster for the purpose of having better opportunities for the education of his children. Here he engaged for some years in the business of inn-keeping ; Lancaster at the time being the seat of the State government, and s. great resort for strangers from all parts of the State. He was appointed an Alder- man, and not long thereafter was elected Mayor of the city of Lancaster, a position to which he was frequently reelected.
