Bio: SAMUEL WHITE CARPENTER, well known resident of Cearfoss, died yesterday at 1:30 a.m. at the home of his son, Clinton Carpenter, aged 76 years.  Born and reared at Maugansville, he was the son of Samuel and Anna White Carpenter.  He was a member of the Broadfording District almost all of his life, and a member of the Dunkard Church at Broadfording.Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Hoss Harbaugh, Broadfording, Mrs. Raymond Blair, Clear Spring; Mrs. Nora Edwards, Hagerstown; Mrs. Vernon Williams, Broadfording, sons, Clinton Carpenter, Cearfoss; Ira F. Carpenter, Broadfording; Aden Carpenter, Preston Carpenter, Hagerstown; 43 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and brother, Henry Carpenter, Fairview.The body was removed to the A.K. Carpenter, 621 Elizabeth St., Saturday of complications after an illness of three months, aged 75 years.  She was born and reared at Lancaster, Pa., and was the daughter of John and Mary Gittinger Fetter.  She was a member of the Church of the Brethren.Besides her husband, she is survived by daughter, Mrs. Ross Harbaugh, Mrs. Raymond Blair, Mrs. Nora Edwards and Mrs. Mary Williams, all of Hagerstown; sons, Clinton F. and Ira F., both of Broadfording, Aden S. and Preston W., of Hagerstown; 42 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.The body was removed to the funeral home of A.K. Bio: Harry Lee Slick -  Harry Lee Slick, 401 Pangborn Boulevard, died at Washington County Hospital this morning at 5 o'clock of a cerebral hemorrhage, after an illness of 21 days, aged 65 years.  Born and reared in Hagerstown, he was the son of William M. and Emma F. (Stouffer) Slick. He was manager of the A. F. Rees Company for 44 years and after retiring was employed by the Brook Meadow Provision Company. He was a member of the Potomac Fish and Game Club and the Fraternal Order of Police. Besides his wife, Nora (Carpenter) Slick, be is survived by son, Robert K. Slick, Hagerstown; step-daughters, Mrs. Howard Kershner and Mrs. Walter Berry, both of Hagerstown; Mrs. Marvin Jones, Baltimore; brothers, Fred and William Slick, both of Hagerstown; and Frank Slick, Martinsburg, W. Va.; three grandchildren and five step- grandchildren.  Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Suter-Rouzer Funeral Home by the Rev. Lester M. Kauffman. Joseph Clem officiating; burial in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the Norment Funeral Home this evening from 7 to 9. The remains will lie in state at the church Thursday one hour prior to the service. It is the request of the family that memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society.

Bio: Clarence S. "Babe" Carpenter, 68, of Maugansville, died Friday noon at Washington County Hospital. He was born in Leitersburg, a son of Henry W. Carpenter, of State Line, Pa., and the late Blanche Barnhart Carpenter. He was a member of the Salem Reformed Church, Cearfoss Pike, and was a charter member of the Maugansville Good Will Volunteer Fire Co., and the Antietam Fire Co of Hagerstown. He was a mechanic for more than 50 years, and was last employed at the Dietrich Garage by Maugansville. Besides his father, he is survived by his widow, Margaret E. Tresler Carpenter; three daughters, Mrs. Earl Wolff of Maugansville; Mrs. J. J. Mauk of San Diego, Calif.; and Mrs. Ronald Poole of Clear Spring; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Kitzmiller of State Line, Pa. and Mrs. Charles Warrenfeltz of Maugansville; two brothers, Harry Carpenter of Hagerstown and Paul Carpenter of Florida; and six grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Minnich-Miller Funeral Home, Greencastle, Pa. Services will be ay 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Clark Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
