Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Berger Hospital.He was born February 6,1927, in Fairfield County the son of Frank E. and Mary Elizabeth (Swank) Carpenter, Sr. He was a 1945 graduate of Stoutsville High School, Army Veteran of World War II the Rifle Club and retired from Dupont after 37 years.
He is survived by his wife of, 58 years, Grace L. (Frazier) Carpenter; daughter, Diann Lynn (Sam) George of Columbus, Ohio; son, Tim E. (Sandy)Carpenter of Circleville, Ohio; grandson, Gabriel (Mandy) Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Sue Carpenter and Mason Gabriel Carpenter; half-sisters, Masel Shehan of California and Marie Branson of Of Iowa; step-grandchildren, Tom and Tammy Wright, Tracy Aldridge and Todd and Chris George; and step-great-grandchildren, J.T. Turner and Taylor Wright.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Kevin Jay Swackhammer.
Services will take place 11 a.m. Thursday at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Rev. Ted Davis and the Rev. James Lewis officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
