Group 9 - Descendants of Felix Zimmerman - with Zimmerman(n) & Carpenter surnames

Group 9 - This descendant line is based on a genealogy compiled in the book, "Carpenters A Plenty" by Robert C. Carpenter.

However, Robert C. Carpenter intermixed two Zimmerman lines together in his book. Y-DNA testing efforts revealed two Y-DNA profiles and the intermixed lines were separated. These became Group 5 and Group 9. Robert C. Carpenter is part of Group 5.

The number following the surname in this report is a record information number (RIN) from the Carpenter Cousins Project master genealogical database. See:

These Carpenter and Zimmerman descendants who have been Y-DNA tested are part of Group 9 of the Carpenter Cousins Y-DNA Project.

Group 9 is a very distinct genetic group from other Carpenter/Zimmerman groups in the Y-DNA Project.
