Martin Leonard Roberts was a member of the ,,CT
legislature, session of 1869, and since 1873, with the exception
of about seven months. He is interested in local history and
genealogy, especially in ,,CT towns. His family
residence is No. 92 De Witt St., New Haven, ,CT Martin L.
Roberts printed a very correct genealogy of his branch of the
Carpenter family, which he gave to the compiler and rendered
other very valuable assistance in collecting statistics of the

She married Joshua Tilden and moved to Utica, NY. He was a merchant.
She died falling from a building.

Freeman in 1667 and a Representative 1671-4 and 1677. A Major in

moved from New Haven to New London CT in 1660 and made his home
in the Winthrop residence there. The old stone house built 1648,
was left to him in the will of his father-in-law, Gov. Winthrop.
