Hi, I'm Theresa Charpentier and I am seeking any and all the info. I can
on the Carpenter name in general, and my branch of the Carpenter surname. I
do not have Gedcom and have little knowlege or experience with computers
however that isn't deterring me to much.
I am sending you what I have (which is very minor in contrast to your
research) in hopes that 1.) it will help you in some small way and that 2.) I
will glean a vast amount of knowledge from your years of research.
My fathers' father was Manley (no middle name)Carpenter b. Feb. 26,1889
Groton, VT d. Sept. 04, 1964. His first wife was Maud(e?) Elizabeth Douglass.
They had two sons and two daughters. One son is deceased. Possibly a fifth
son died at birth. His second wife was Florence May Reed and they had four
sons. Two of whom are deceased. I don't have marriage dates. I don't have
full family info on other members yet.
Manleys' father was Curtis Carpenter b. Nov. 19, 1856 Groton, VT d.
Jan.20, 1933 Ryegate, VT. His first and only wife was Julia McCrillis b.
Plainfield, VT? Don't know if Manley had siblings at the moment but I believe
so.
Curtis's father was Andrew Jackson Carpenter b. Jan. 12, 1832, West
Fairlee, VT d. Dec. 06, 1908 Groton, VT. His wife was Sarah Morrison - no
other data
Andrews' father was Eliphet Carpenter b. April 26, 1796, Fairlee, VT d.
Sept. 06, 1870, Fairlee, VT. His wife was Susanna Glover - no other data
Eliphets' father was Ephraim Carpenter b. Dec. 07, 1753 Rehebath, Mass,
