John,
I was going through the civil war records that I have, Yes, I am way behind in scaning my records. I guess that is what summer does. I have the records of George N. Carpenter. He was a Sergeant in Co D, 9th reg Vet Vol. and was promoted to Lieutenant.
His 1st wife was Elvira Folson, she died Oct 10 1865 in Marshfield, Washington County, Vermont. They were married Jan 4 1859, they had a son William A. born oct 16 1859. His second wife was Adelia S. Perry. They were married Dec 25 1870 by Minister Stephen F. Drew in Cabot, Washington County, Vermont. They had the following Children: Juliette M born April 29 1875, Howard H. born July 9 1877 and Glenn Caroll born July 21 1888. George died Aug 9 1906 in Lower Cabot, Washington County, Vermont.
Do you know who his parents were? I can not find him in the Carpenter Memorial. He appears in the 1880 census for Marshfield, Washington County, Vermont with his wife Della and children. also in the 1870 on the same town. in the 1860 census there are 2 George N. Carpenters. One age 11 and one age 10. I am not sure which one is him or which line he comes from. I could not find him in the Carpenter Memorial. Any ideas??
I have his pension records if you want them, approx 100 pages. Most of them are medical exam papers. Only a few Pages on it states his wife's names of children's names. Your more then welcome to any data you would like.
Thank you.Marque
