They also cared for and brought up his nephew, Ernest L. Hollenbeck, who is
now a conductor (1913) on the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad.

HISTORY: At the age of 3 he moved to Hornell with his family. In 1886,
shortly after he married, he, accompanied by his wife and parents, drove across
the country in a team to Middlebury township, Tioga county, PA and settled on
Balwin Run, which section was practically a wilderness even at that late date.
There he built a saw and grist mill and lated he removed to Stokesdale, in the
vincinity of which place he bought a farm, to which he subsequently added . . .
making an extensive estate of 300 acres.  In his polictical adherence he is a
stalwart Republican.  He is a member of the Methodist Episcopal church at
Wellsboro. More information in the "Genealogical and Personal History of
