21600. Ira Elmer Carpenter

Number 652-5 in the Timothy Carpenter book.
Not mentioned in the 1850 census of Warren, PA. His father died in 1852
in Blockville, NY.    Born in Blockville per the above record. However, Warren,
PA is probable also.

He owned 120 Acres in Section 32 of Huron Township, MI in 1904.
Data on this descendancy line submitted by Arleigh Joe Carpenter of Davidson,
NC in June 1998.  He provided birth date and location.

David Ramsey found info about Heenan being a surfman in Luce County
MI under the spelling HAYNEN.  It shows him as living with his wife
Charlotte (Perdue) and William Perdue (her brother).

21601. Earl Elijah Carpenter

Number 653-5 in the Timothy Carpenter book.
Buried in the International Order of Farmers cemetery in Farmersville, TX
Died Age 79 years and one day old.
Earl is first mentioned in the 1850 census of Panama, NY and is included on an
1861 school list.  In a January 31, 1897 letter from Tecumseh, OK
Territory letter to his brother Isaac (250), Abner stated his son Earl (this
Earl) was in Farmersville in the grocery business and had two daughters and a
son who were all grown.  Earl by that time had been married twice and was then
a widower.
A letter written by Earl's son Arthur, dated 30 Oct. 1940 stated his father had
moved to Farmersville in the fall of 1888, where he became a member of the A.F
& A.M. Lodge.  He was previously a member of Lodges at Mirable, MO, Rosston, OK
and Collinsville, TX  Arthur said his father rode horseback from NY to
TX and the first place he stopped in TX became known as Carpenter's Bluff
in Grayson county, TX

There is a single slab marking Emma's grave, with markings on one side for her
and on the other side for daughter Sarah.

Matilda Catherine Woodward Howel

Matilda was called "Cassie".  Her father came to Farmersville in 1853.
She was a communicant of the Primitive Baptist Church in Farmersville for 51
years.  She then joined the Presbyterian Church in 1923.  Her obit states her
funeral services were held in the Farmersville Methodist Church.
There were three surving children of her first marriage to Woodward in 1935.


21602. Isaac Devant Carpenter

Number 654-5 in the Timothy Carpenter book.
This Isaac was referred to as "Levant" in the 1850 Panama census.  He is also
listed in a 1861 school list.  In a letter, his father addressed to his brother
Isaac from Tecumseh, OK Territory dated Jan. 31, 1897, Abner stated his
son Isaac was then residing at Telvride, Colorado, where he was a construction
superintendent for a mining company at a $2,000.00 a year salary.  Also he had
built a 5,000 foot long tramway which raised 2,000 feet to the mine.
It is recorded that one child's name was Edna, that in 1897 the eldest daughter
was deceased, and that four other children were living.
Arthur (1106) records that one child of Isaac's, a son, was an attorneyat
Cherokee in the OK Territory.

21604. Eugene Newton Carpenter

Number 656-5 in the Timothy Carpenter book.
His wife died in the summer of 1896.  Her name is not known.
Eugene is in the 1855 census of Panama as "Eugene" and in the 1865 census as
"Newton".  In a letter from his father to Abner's brother Issac, he referred to
Eugene as being the next older brother Arthur.  Also he was then residing (in
1897) at Tecumseh, where he was teaching school for $50.00 a month.  Eugene had
two sons, age 9 and 6, and that his wife had died the previous summer.

Arthur is first mentioned in the 1865 census of Panama, NY.  In a letter his
father Abner wrote to his brother Isaac (250) from Tecumseh, OK Territory
dated Jan. 31, 1897, Abner says he was then staying with his son Arthur in
Tecumseh.  Arthur had traded some property in town for a 60 acre farm he rented
out, that Arthur had patented a well drilling machine which could drill 100
feet per day, and that Arthur had five children of the ages which are given in
the record.

Unknown what maiden name was.
Obit: Mary was a member of Ladies Auxilary, Marysville Barracks 140, Veterans
of World War One, Ladies Auxiliary of Marysville Post 5671, V.F.W., and Ladies
Auxiliary, American Legion, Oroville, WA.   Among her survivors were: Mrs. Zola
Walberg, Coulee Dam, WA; Joel Walling, Spokane, WA; Chester Walling, Tacoma,
WA; and Walter (Bud) Walling, East River, Alaska, plus 15 grandchildren, and 13
great-grandchildren.
