23886. Leslie Shepard Carpenter

b. LESLIE SHEPARD CARPENTER -- Born Aug. 29, 1924 at Jamaica, N.Y. In the
family tradition, he enlisted right after Pearl Harbor at age 17. He spent most
of his time in Europe, completing his service in the 75th Infantry Division. In
1945, he married Elizabeth Rogers of Liverpool, England. She is the daughter of
Edward James and Elizabeth (Jones) Rogers. Her brother, Harry Rogers, has made
several important discoveries relevant to the English ancestry of the American
branches of the Carpenter family. Leslie S. Carpenter is an accountant and
resides in Howard Beach, N.Y. and Seminole, Fla. (1) KEVIN LESLIE CARPENTER -
Born Jan. 27, 1947 in Jamaica, N.Y. He has visited his mother's parents in
England several times. During one visit, he was compelled to attend school by
an English truant officer from October of 1955 to January of 1956. He received
a master's degree from New York University and teaches Spanish and Latin
American history.-Kevin is a member of the National Society of Sons of the
American Revolution, the General Society of Sons of the Revolution, the
membership committee of the General Society of Colonial Wars, the Military
Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, and the Military Society of the
War of 1812.

CARPENTER-Kevin. February 18, 2000. Suddenly at Seatowers, Madeira Beach, FL. Beloved son of Elizabeth. Devoted husband to Valerie. Kevin was a linguist, a teacher & a writer, with two Master's from NYU where he was a Ford Fellow and a research assistant to the Director of the Center for International Studies 1969-72. A Federal civil rights investigator 1978-84. Sadly missed by all who knew him for his great intellect & warm loving personality, but most of all by his mother, wife, Aunt Pat, Uncle Ray, Aunt Gurli.

LESLIE BUDD CARPENTER -- Born at Middletown, N.Y. Aug. 9, 1896; married 1)
Adelaide Roesner Jan. 18, 1919; she died March 16, 1921 and was buried at
Lutheran Cemetery, Middle Village, N.Y.; married 2) Elsie M. Leiser, a teacher
and principal at Howard Beach, N.Y., who is now deceased. Leslie resides at
Woodhaven, N.Y.
Leslie is a retired Army colonel with active service in World War I and World
War II. His service has taken him to various U.S. Army installations and
included duty in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Luxembourg
and Switzerland. During World War II, he commanded supply depots for the First
Army in Europe.
Col. Carpenter holds a teaching license from the State University of New York,
and his extensive education includes numerous professional and military
courses. As a young man, he entered the publishing business and was at one time
publication sales manager for The McCall Company. He joined George W. Millar &
Co., Inc., a paper firm based in New York City, in 1958 and worked as salesman,
advertising manager and public relations director for that firm until his
retirement in 1970. He has since operated his own firm in Woodhaven, N.Y.
Col. Carpenter has been active in numerous church activities, serving as a
choir member and Sunday School superintendent, and as a charter member of the
Woodhaven Interfaith Community Council. A 32nd Degree Mason, he is founder,
charter member and past master of United Services Lodge 1118, F.& A.M., has
been active in Grand Lodge posts and is affiliated with numerous Masonic
organizations. Col. Carpenter has also been in several veterans' organizations.
A former president of The Carpenter Family Association,
he has long been interested in Carpenter family research
and has played a major role in publication of this book
let. He also holds membership in Sons of the American
Revolution, Military Order of the Loyal Legion, the Order
of Lafayette, the Military Order of the World Wars, and
numerous other patriotic and fraternal societies.

1906 at Richmond Hill, N.Y. A bridge painter by trade, Egbert is an active
Mason and in 1946 served one year as a sergeant in the New York State Guard at
Jamaica, N.Y. a. EGBERT B. CARPENTER -- Born April 12, 1928 at South Ozone
Park, N.Y. In 1946, he served in the New York State Guard. He subsequently was
with the U.S. Army and NATO forces in Europe from Oct. 16, 1950 to Sept. 23,
1952 while the Korean Conflict was being fought. In more recent years, he has
been a salesman for photographic chemicals and supplies. --He wed Concetta B.
Figliola July 30, 1960 at Brooklyn, N.Y.; she was born Feb. 6, 1932 in New York
