CARPENTER – Mrs. Thyrza L. Ferris, of Little Marsh, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 1963. She was a school teacher; member of the Methodist Church, Little Marsh. Survived by husband, Lyle Ferris; daughter, Mrs. John Van Horn of Michigan; brothers, Paul L. Carpenter of Painted Post, Valorus Carpenter of Gibson; sister, Mrs. Harold Wilson of Mansfield RD2; 3 grandchildren; one great grandchild. Funeral was held at the Carpenter Funeral Home, Painted Post on Tuesday at 2 PM, the Rev. Schrawder officiating. Burial in Keeneyville Cemetery.

US ARMY VET
He served during World War II in the US Army where he was wounded during the Battle of the Buldge when a panzerfaust missed its target and hit a tree near him. He was burned and received fragments.

writes: I just got an obituary for my brother Howard who died in Moorhead MN
on January 18th 1999 at 83 years old.  He was born in Dicky ND November 18,
1915. *******In it it says-----He is survived by his wife Gertrude,
Moorhead; two sons, Larry (Judy) Carpenter, Moorhead, and Roger (Ann)
Carpenter, Cologne, MN; a daughter, Cleo (Harold) Parrow, Moorhead; six
grandchildren, Kristi (John) Paulson, Tammy Carpenter, Daniel Parrow,
Sheri Parrow, Rachel Carpenter, and Reed Carpenter; three
great-grandchkildren, John, Michael, and Alyssa Paulson; three brothers,
Richard and Robert Carpenter, both in California, and Michael Maus,
Arizona.  He was preceeded in death by his parents, Louis and Mattie
(Campbell) Carpenter, and one bother Andrew-----I find an ommission:
Our brother "Glen"?, and an addition:  A brother Michael, who I knew
