BIOGRAPHICAL
He graduated from Union College at Schenectady, NY, in 1851, and from Madison University at Hamilton, NY, in 1853. He was a minister, and became pastor of the High Street Baptist Church of Cincinnati, OH, in 1853. Later, he removed to Huntington Co., IN, and afterwards to Columbus, KS.

Was the Death of Mrs. Rhoda D. Peck
Late Last Night
Mrs. Rhoda D. Carpenter died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J . W.Dallas, on Summit avenue last night at 11 o'clock, aged 83 years, 6months and 18 days. Private funeral services will be held at theDallas home, Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. D. C.___________. The lady fell about three weeks ago and broke her hip.The fall at her advanced age, brought about complications, from which recovery was impossible and she sank slowly but peacefully to eternal rest.
The maiden name of the deceased was Rhoda D. Carpenter and she wasborn in Richland County, March 3, 1831, the daughter of Samuel and Eunice Carpenter.
With her parents she lived on a farm near Bellville until her marriage to Nelson Peck, following which _______________________________Sandusky county, where Mr. Peck died 18 years ago and three years later his widow came to Galion to make her home with her daughter. She was a most estimable lady and her longlife was one of goodness and usefulness.
