9468. Meredith Sylvan Anderson

Meredith and Betty Anderson were married March 24, 1946, at the Methodist Church in Hildreth. They are living on the farm northeast of Hildreth where Meredith was born.
Meredith, the son of Murl and Grace Anderson attended country school #54 east of Hildreth. He graduated from Hildreth High School in 1938.
He attended Radio School in Omaha and worked in a radio shop in California before going to the service in 1942. He was in the 736th anti_aircraft battalion and served in New Guinea and the Philippines. He was discharged from the service in December, 1945.
Betty is the daughter of Bill and Nellie Aspergren. She attended District #37 in Kearney County and graduated from Hildreth High School in 1943. She attended Hastings Business College and worked at Dutton_Lainson in Hastings.
They are members of United Methodist Church in Minden. Both are active in church, Lions, Lioness, V.F.W. and V.F.W. Auxiliary and other community affairs. Betty is a member of the Merry Homemakers Extension Club.
They are the parents of three children, Kay who is married to Lyle Roe from Superior. Kay is a graduate of Hildreth High School and Lincoln School of Commerce. They live at Portage, Wisconsin where she is employed as secretary. They have one daughter, Lenita.
Larry is married to Sheila Johannsen from Heart_well. Larry is a graduate of Hildreth High School and attended Central Technical School at Hastings and lives south of Minden on a farm. They have three daughters, Kimberly, Megan, and Shayla.
Barbara is married to Matthew Peters of Manchester, Tennessee. She is a graduate of Hildreth High School and the University of Nebraska with an R.N. and B.S. degree. She is employed as a baby nurse at Poudre Valley Hospital in Ft. Collins, Colorado. By Betty Anderson

9473. Esta Lavonne Davis

OBIT:
DUMAS - Esta Richards, 77, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church of Dumas with the Rev. John Wagoner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Dumas Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.
Mrs. Richards was born on Feb. 17, 1925, in Wauneta, Neb. She married Gilbert Richards on Aug. 17, 1951, in Wauneta. She was a homemaker, enjoyed painting and loved dogs. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Sherilan Arterburn of Whitewater, Colo.; and two granddaughters, Gabrielle and Tara.
The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell, Amarillo, TX 79109; or the Dumas Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 438, Dumas, TX 79029.
Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 24, 2002 ___________ Esta grew up riding and showing horses. She won prizes in barrel racing events. As an adult, she enjoyed tole painting.
