A Zeno Carpenter died about 1832 and left son Abraham C. Carpenter.
Jacob Bell was appointed administrator and guardian September 25, 1832
(New York Wills, Vol. 31, p. 18: Inventory December 27, 1832, Bundle 39,
New York Surrogates's office.)

In 1835, he removed to a farm near Elmira, then Tioga, now Chemung County, NY.
His widow afterwards resided with her daughter Susan at Watkins, Schuyler
county, where she died in 1885 (aged 85 years and 16 days).

Family on page 214.  He was a ship carpenter by trade and in 1826 appears
in a New York Directory as residing with his father and brother Zeno at
the cornor of Cherry and Montgomery Streets.
His wife died at 340 West Twelfth Street at age 62 and was buried at Hyde Park.

Family on page 215.
On page 149 Henry is listed as being born about 1786 and on page 215 as being
born about 1790.  Could there have been two Henrys?  Probably.
He was a hatter by trade and after his marriage removed to Yarmouth, Canada.
He returned to Chappaqua about 1850 and died there about 1866.  It is believed
that all of his daughters died before he came back from Canada.

Marriage Certificate Henry CARPENTER and Lydia HAIGHT, 15d 5m 1806
Whereas Henry CARPENTER Son of Benjamin CARPENTER and Frelove his wife of the Town of Clinton in Duches County and State of New York And Lydia HAIGHT Daughter of James HAIGHT and Barshabe his wife Deceased of the Town of New Castle in the County of West Chester and State aforesaid having declared their intentions of Marriage with each other before two monthly meetings of the people Called Quakers held at Shapuqua in the State affore said they having Consent of parents and parties concerned and Nothing appearing to obstruct their Said proposals were allowed of by the meeting.  Now these are to certify all whome it may concern that for the full accomplishment of their said intentions this fifteenth day of fifth month in the year one thousand eight hundred and six, they the said Henry CARPENTER and Lydia HAIGHT appeared in a public Meeting of said people at Shapuqua aforesaid and he the said Henry CARPENTER taking the said Lydia HAIGHT by the hand did in a Solemn Manner openly declare that he took her to be his wife promising through divine assistance to be unto her a faithful and Loving Husband untill death Seperates them or words to that affect.  And then the said Lydia HAIGHT did in like manner declare that she took the Said Henry CARPENTER to be her Husband promising through divine assistance to be unto him a faithful and loveing Wife untill death seperate them or words to that import  And moreover they the said Henry CARPENTER and Lydia HAIGHT she according to the Custom of Marriage assumeing the name of her Husband as a further Confermation thereof did then to these presents Set their hands
